Does she look like me?

I didn't realize how much Robin has grown in only 3 months. When she was born we were in shock to see such a tiny baby, specially since I had a ginormous belly, we thought we were going to have an 8 pounder! She was only 6lbs 14oz. Today I took some pictures of her and I realized that she is so big, so chubby...adorable!

She is all smiles in the morning, and in the evening, and all the time....

Except for this time, she was really upset at the camera... = (

Look at those legs!

Rene’s 11th Birthday

My baby turned 11.  Wow! I still remember when he was born like if it was yesterday. They brought him to me completely swaddled in a blanket, I took all of his clothes off and counted every single finger and toe.  He was just so perfect, so peaceful.  Nothing else mattered but us, just the 2 of us.  He brought new hope to my life and all the bad things happening around us didn’t matter.

While growing up he was always smiling, always kissing and hugging everybody.  I swear I’ve never seen a boy like him.  So polite, so smart, so funny.  He hardly ever cried at all.  Would never complain about anything.  He was all smiles, all love.  My little gentleman.  A true bundle of joy and love.

There was a time when he wasn’t with me.  The most difficult time of my life, it is still so painful to remember those days.  We both suffered so much.  When he came back to me, he would not sleep anywhere else but on top of me, and I would just hug him all night long.

Things have changed so much now you don’t want to kiss me anymore, for example when I drop you off at school, I know that deep inside you want to, you are just embarrassed.  I can tell because you always turn around and look at me, like saying “I love you too Mami”.

Ranita: “Y yo te amo al infito y mas alla” (and I love you to infinity and beyond!)

Feliz Cumpleanos mi amor.  I miss you.

Two X Two

IMG_9014

Brianna turned 2 years old on May 1st.  It is amazing how fast she grew up,  My little girl is such a wonderful child, not only beautiful but smart, extremely funny and wild, so independent and sweet at the same time, a real joy.

Robin turned 2 months on May 3rd.  My little smiley baby weighs 12lbs 2oz and measures 22 3/4 inches, she is in the 75th percentile.  Sweet, sweet baby, so peaceful, so lovely.  She is always smiling no matter what, y cuando me pongo triste solo tengo que mirarla, entonces ella me regala una sonrisa y todo cambia.

My little Mexican Baby

Today I found this pictures in the old laptop, they were taken at Brianna’s first trio to Mexico, she was 6 months old.  She was all dressed up with a Mexican dress and bandana.  She loves Mexican music and salsa!

Yesterday I got 2 big surprises…

*ROBIN*
When Robin was born she was 6lbs 14 oz and 20 inches long, pretty small considering the HUGE belly I had, everybody (me & David) thought she was going to be a big baby, at least bigger than Brianna who was 7lbs 15 oz and 19 ¾ inches long. At Robin’s first week appointment she weighed 7lbs 5oz. Yesterday at her 2nd week appointment she weighed 8lbs 1oz, and measured 20 ½ inches, she gained 12 ounces in a week! I am so proud of her (and myself too)। I still think she is tiny, but it might be because I am comparing her to Brianna now, who until 2 weeks ago seemed so small to me, now she is like a giant!

*RENE*
Rene came today with his graded papers from school, while I was looking at them I got pretty upset because he had an F in Math, he had 18 right out of 40. I couldn’t care less about the grade but was worried about the fact he missed so many. Let me tell you about Rene…I’ve always believed (which mother doesn’t?) that he is a super smart kid with an amazing memory, but on the other hand he get distracted so easily that it is ridiculous, he won’t find his nose unless you point at it, most of the times he doesn’t read the whole instruction in a test and that is why he gets a lot of answers wrong. Anyway, along with his graded papers there was an envelope, I opened it and there was this letter from a counselor at his school, saying that he was invited to join DUKE’S UNIVERSITY talent search program, I thought it was publicity or they were trying to sell us something. I was wrong; he scored 96 on Math/Science on the Terra Nova National test. It also said that only 5% of ALL the students (private and public schools) within the Duke’s region (16 States) get invited. My baby is in that 5%!!! This program helps gifted kids to improve their talent so they can use it in the right way…WOW!!! I am so super excited। We have noticed that when he is not under the pressure of getting a good grade is when he does great in his tests. Some of the kids in his classroom that have straight A’s scored way lower than he did in the Terra Nova. SO PROUD! (ok I’ll go now before I get to annoying)

Let's get started

I am a member of blogspot.com since 2007 and I have always attempted to write something but never had the time to, I still don’t have time for it but I will try. I am/was a journalist and it is so frustrating to have all these ideas in your mind and not be able to state them in paper, especially since my main language is not English, but still I will try or do like my friend Anamaria does, sometimes English, sometimes Spanish.
So this is me now…
I am a stay at home mom, married to David, a great guy with a big heart that thinks the entire world is a nice as he is. We have three amazing, crazy, wild, hilarious and unique kids. Rene, the sweetest, clueless boy ever. Brianna, a wild, independent but demanding, funny, vain little lady. Robin, our new baby girl who was born in March 2009, and eats like if there’s no tomorrow.
I hardly have time to do anything else but to take care of the kids and try to keep our messy house not that messy, but I love to write, mostly about politics, but also poems. Design, I am into digital scrapbooking and started to make my very own kits from scratch. Paint, I do watercolor, acrylics and oil, and it takes me forever but the results are good, although I haven’t paint with oil since I left Mexico. I love to design decorative items for kids’ rooms in wood and hand paint them. I love sewing but I get so frustrated because I can never finish my sewing projects. Pretty much I’ve done in my life a little bit of everything, I used to have the time and the money to “explore” every single passion I had, and if you ask me today what would be my ideal job, I probably couldn’t tell since I like to do just about everything and I believe that I am capable of doing just about anything I want to.
My Brianna is crying now because she wants her hair done so I guess I have to go now.
